Pope Moves Onto Finals at NCAA Championships

Raleigh, N.C. - Mitchell Pope of the NC State track and field team advanced to the finals in the shot put on the second day of action at the 2007 Outdoor NCAA Championships being held in Sacramento, Calif. Pope placed 10th in the semifinals today, with a top heave of 60'11.50". Pope now advances to the championship round which will be held on Saturday.
Two Pack distance runners will be competing in the finals of their events on Thursday. Wesley Smith will be running in the finals of the men's 5,000 meters, while Julia Lucas will compete in the women's 5,000 meters.
