Track Closes Out Weekend With Strong Marks at Stanford

Julia Lucas recorded one of the top-10 times nationally this season, as she ran the 5,000 meters in 16:05.58.
On the men's side, the Pack had two runners in the 5,000 meters and one in the 1,500 meters. Wesley Smith was the fastest Pack runner in the 5,000 meters, running a 13:55.66, while John Crews posted a time of 14:03.52. In the 1,500 meters, Chris Kollar notched his first NCAA Regional qualifying time of the season, 3:47.07.
The Pack also sent three male throwers to the Penn Relays earlier in the weekend, and two brought home NCAA Regional qualifying marks. Mitchell Pope won the shot put in the championship, with a season-best toss of 64'11.50". That throw was only six inches off the school record. That throw was also the third-best nationally this year in the shot put.
Chris Crawford also notched his third NCAA Regional mark of the season in the hammer, he was seventh with a throw of 187'03".
Jason Jones took third in the shot put college division, as he had a throw of 54'03.75".
