Men's Golf in Eighth at ACC Championship

Raleigh, N.C. - After the first round of action at the 2007 ACC Championship, the NC State men's golf team sits in eighth place with a seven-over par 295. The Pack is just two strokes out of fifth place at the Old North State Club at Uwharrie Point in New London, N.C. Sophomores Nathan Spoon and Chase Duncan led the Pack on day one, both shooting an even-par 72 and tying for 12th overall.
Spoon was tops on the Pack with five birdies on the day, including one on each of the first two holes. Classmate Andrew Byrd was close behind, as he finished with one-over par 73. Also in the first round action for the Pack, senior Jerry Richardson carded a six-over, while classmate Garry Hill was at nine-over par.
The Pack will be in second round action tomorrow, and the third round is Sunday.
