The NC State gymnastics team has earned a preseason ranking of No. 25 heading into the 2008 season. Head coach Mark Stevenson, the EAGL Coach of the Year the last two seasons, will showcase a talented and deep team in 2008 as it tries to defend its 2007 EAGL Championship and add yet another trip to the NCAA Regionals.
The Wolfpack's No. 25 ranking places it second among EAGL conference teams, with only West Virginia (No. 22) receiving more votes than the Red and White.
Stevenson has scheduled top competition for his squad in 2008, as its slate in the New Year will feature eight top-25 teams, including road trips to No. 1 Georgia (Feb. 8) and No. 12 Arizona (Jan. 11).
Other ranked teams on the schedule include No. 9 Michigan, No. 10 LSU, No. 13 Penn State, No. 19 Auburn, No. 20 Ohio State and WVU.
NC State kicks off its 2008 season on Jan. 11 when it travels to Tucson, Arizona to face the No. 12 Arizona Wildcats.
