Senior Night to Highlight Volleyball's Final Home Matches

RALEIGH, N.C. The NC State volleyball team will host Virginia and Virginia Tech this week at historic Reynolds Coliseum on the NC State campus. The Wolfpack’s final two home matches of the season will be on Thursday, Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. when the Pack takes on the Cavaliers, and Friday, Nov. 9 at 7 p.m. against the Hokies.

Seniors Andi Bentley, Kasey Rhyne and Ashley Wallace will be recognized following play on Friday night, as the trio competes in front of a home crowd on the State campus for the final time.
NC State enters play at 3-23 (0-16 ACC. The Pack’s freshmen continue to lead the team in kills (Lauren Zaniboni 288), digs (Nikki Sweet 259) and assists (Alex Smith 728). Smith’s assist total stands ninth overall in the league. Sophomore Chrissy Zirpolo has made a significant contribution with 21 service aces, a team-best, and Wallace fronts the roster in blocks with 83 total.
With 1,110 career digs, Bentley stands 10th in the Wolfpack record books. She needs just four to move into ninth place, 53 for eighth and 60 for seventh.
Virginia (15-10, 10-6 ACC) is fourth in the ACC in service aces, averaging 1.98 a game. Sarah Kirkwood has 436 kills, giving her the third highest total in the ACC and tops on the Cavalier squad. She is also third in the conference in service aces with 55, and teammate A.J. Cushman is eighth with 28. Melissa Caldwell leads the UVa defense with 376 digs.
The Hokies (12-14, 6-10 ACC) are second in the ACC in blocks, with 65 solo blocks and an average of 3.20 blocks per game. Virginia Tech is also third in digs, averaging 17.94 per game. Michelle Lang leads the team in assists with 1,182, good for third in the league. Felicia Willoughby leads the Hokies and the ACC in blocks, averaging 1.56 per game. Amanda Cloyd tops the team in both services aces (23) and digs (527).
Following the last two home matches, the Wolfpack will hit the road for four games to finish out the season.
