At the beginning of the 2007 football season, the NC State football team announced a partnership with Coca-Cola and Harris Teeter to collect new toys and donations throughout the 2007 football season to benefit the U.S. Marine Corp’s Toys for Tots campaign. To date, Coca-Cola has donated over $13,500 to the program at the rate of $500 for each touchdown the Wolfpack football team has scored.
Wolfpack fans had a chance to help contribute to this campaign at the NC State-North Carolina football game this past Saturday.
As the Wolfpack Football team celebrates an exciting win over the Tar Heels on Saturday, it is even more exciting to report that Wolfpack Fans donated over 1000 toys and almost $15,000 in cash donations for the Coca-Cola U.S. Marines Toys for Tots campaign.
“It is not surprising the generosity demonstrated by the Wolfpack Nation at the UNC game this past Saturday. We are fortunate to have a giving and passionate fan base that embraced this campaign. Wolfpack fans can always be counted on to help others in need. I am proud of the support shown by all of our fans and appreciate the donations made to benefit Toys for Tots,” said Wolfpack Head Coach Tom O’Brien.
Fans who did not attend the game can still make a donation to the Coca-Cola Toys for Tots campaign, please visit any Triangle area Harris Teeter location and look for the toy bin next to the Coca-Cola display. Harris Teeter and Coca-Cola will be collecting toys until December 10th. All toy donations are appreciated, but new toys for toddlers ages 2-4 and pre-teens ages 10-12 are needed most.
More details about the NC State football/Coca-Cola Toys for Tots campaign is posted on NC State Athletics’ official website, www.gopack.com.
