The NC State Women's Soccer team returns home to host its first ACC game of the season on Sunday against long-standing rival Duke at Method Road at 2 pm.
Junior Lindsay Vera leads the Pack with six goals on the season, which puts her in the top-five among the ACC leaders. Se has two game-winning goals this season and scored a beautiful goal in the opening minutes at Florida State last Sunday to give the Wolfpack an early lead against the nationally-ranked Seminoles.
Sophomore keeper Sydney Little has been steady in net Pack. She had her career best scoreless streak snapped at 337:25 last Friday at Miami. The Garner, N.C., native is ninth in the ACC with a 1.16 goals against average and is third in saves with 3.9 per match.
Duke narrowly holds a 12-10-1 advantage in the all-time series that began in 1988. The Blue Devils have won six straight in the series, including a 3-0 win last year in Durham.
Duke owns a 6-2-2 overall and 1-1-0 (ACC) mark with the lone losses coming at the hands of fourth-ranked Virginia and fourth-ranked Texas A&M. The Blue Devils registered a 1-0 victory over Virginia Tech on Sunday. Duke plays at No. 6 Boston College on Friday night.
The Wolfpack remains in Raleigh for three more ACC matches. Virginia comes to town on Thursday at 4 pm.
