Raleigh, N.C. - Hello from the NC State volleyball team! I am Ashley Wallace and I will be a senior next year. Just like Andi over the course of the past season, I will be keeping in touch with you all, filling you in on the progress and activities of the team during the spring semester. We've been hard at work nearly every morning since coming back from Christmas vacation, and the sessions are already paying off.
So far we are scheduled for three spring tournaments, and we wake up early almost every weekday to prepare for them. Monday through Thursday we wake up at 5 a.m., meet at Reynolds Coliseum by 5:30 and begin practice around 5:45. On Friday we are up at 6 a.m. to be ready for lifting and conditioning, which begins at 6:45. Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday we have conditioning in addition to individual practices. Those sessions are broken down by position Tuesday through Thursday. In addition to that, other weight training sessions are mixed in as time allows.
This spring we are focusing on improving individual skills and weaknesses, as well as our composure as a team. Spring play offers us an opportunity to break down many of the drills and techniques that we need to work on improving.
Junior Ashley Wallace will keep fans up to speed on the latest happenings of Wolfpack volleyball throughout the spring semester with her blog on GoPack.com. Stay tuned to GoPack.com for the latest news and information on Wolfpack volleyball.
