Dear Visiting Football Athletic Trainer:
On behalf of the sports medicine staff at North Carolina State University, I would like to welcome you and your team to Raleigh, NC. I hope your visit will be enjoyable. The following information should help you in preparation for your visit. If you require any additional information or need to make special arrangements, please contact me prior to your arrival. Carter-Finley Field will serve as your game venue. The athletic training room is located in the Murphy Center, on the ground level. Please refer to the Facilities Page to view. The athletic training room is equipped with the following:
- Hydrocollator Unit
- Electrical Stimulation Units
- Hot/Cold Whirlpools
- Ultrasound Units
- Compression Unit
- Biohazard Supplies
- Emergency Equipment (AED, Splints, Crutches)
- Cardiovascular Equipment (Stationary Bike, Eliptical, Stairmaster)
The training room will open one hour prior to practices and competition. A member of our sports medicine staff will be available to assist you during these times. Multiple Team Physicians and Certified Athletic Trainers will be present during all games and will be happy to assist you and your team if needed.
During all practices and games the following items will be provided fieldside:
- Water and Cups
- Injury Ice and Bags
- Splints and Crutches
- Biohazard Cleaning Supplies and Containers
If your team requires any additional supplies, please feel free to contact me prior to your arrival.

Driving Directions
Rex Hospital is located at the corner of Blue Ridge Road and Lake Boone Trail. Our address is 4420 Lake Boone Trail.
From Campus
- Take Cates Ave. To Dan Allen, turn right onto Dan Allen
- Dan Allen to Hillsborough. Take left onto Hillsborough. Follow Hillsborough to Blue Ridge Road.
- Take a right onto Blue Ridge Road. Follow Blue Ridge Road and Rex Hospital will be on your right.
From I-440 Beltline
- Take the Lake Boone Trail exit.
- Turn right at the end of the ramp.
- Go approximately mile and you will see the main entrance of the hospital on the right.
From Durham, Chapel Hill and points west
- Take I-40 east to Raleigh.
- Take Wade Avenue exit.
- Go approximately two miles and take Blue Ridge Road exit.
- At top of ramp, take left.
- Go approximately 1.5 miles and take right onto Lake Boone Trail.
- At first stoplight, take left into Rex Hospital campus.
From Clayton, Benson and points east
- Take I-40 west to Raleigh.
- Take I-440 inner beltline (US 64).
- Take Lake Boone Trail exit.
- Turn right at the end of the ramp.
- Go approximately mile and you will see the main entrance of the hospital on the right.

Follow Hillsborough Street West to (beltline) I-440 South/US-1 South. Follow US-1 to Cary Parkway exit. Turn right at top of exit onto Cary Parkway. Follow Cary Parkway approximately 2 miles to intersection (with traffic light) with Lake Pine. Turn left onto Lake Pine. The Medical Building, including the Cary Urgent Care Facility, is on your right.
