Gymnastics Hosts First Home Meet on Sunday

Raleigh, N.C. - The NC State gymnastics team will kick off its 2007 home schedule this Sunday afternoon with one of the biggest home meets in school history. The Wolfpack will be hosting No. 2 Georgia, No. 24 Ohio State and Iowa on Sunday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. in Reynolds Coliseum.
The Wolfpack is ranked 30th nationally after one week of competition, including a No. 20 ranking on the uneven bars. NC State scored a 192.075 last weekend at Auburn to start the season.
Georgia comes into the meet ranked No. 2 nationally, and also ranked second on three of the four events. The Gym Bulldogs have won seven national titles, including the last two. Georgia is averaging a team score of 196.675 after two meets this season, and its score of 197.375 against Stanford is the top team score nationally.
Ohio State is 1-0 on the season, scoring a 193.625 last weekend against Ball State. The Buckeyes are currently ranked No. 24. Iowa scored a 192.525 in a home loss to LSU last week for its only result of the season.
