Men's Soccer Travels to Boston College

Raleigh, N.C. - The NC State men’s soccer team will be in road action this weekend, traveling to Boston College for an ACC matchup Friday night at 7:00 p.m. The Wolfpack (3-5-1, 1-2-1 ACC) currently sits in fifth place in the ACC with a total of four points, while the Eagles (4-4, 1-2 ACC) have three points in conference play.
Last time out, the Pack earned a hard fought scoreless tie with No. 1 Clemson last Sunday afternoon. Keeper Tom DeStefano picked up his first shutout of the season, as the Pack limited the ACC’s leading offense to just three shots on goal.
NC State is 1-1 on the season in road ACC games up to this point. The Pack started ACC play with a win at then-No. 1 North Carolina, but fell at No. 6 Maryland two weekends ago.
Boston College evened its season record to 4-4 after a 5-1 win over Quinnipiac on Tuesday. In conference play, the Eagles downed Virginia Tech, then fell in a pair of one-goal games at Virginia and at Duke. BC’s Charlie Davis is one of the top forwards in the ACC, already notching eight goals on the season.
This will only be the third all-time matchup between the two schools, with NC State holding a 1-0-1 advantage. In 2004, NC State traveled to face No. 10 BC in a non-conference game and came away with a 0-0 tie. Last season, the Pack defending its home field, with a 3-1 win in an ACC conference matchup.
After this weekends trip to Boston College, the Pack will begin a five game homestand. Up first at home will be Maine on Wednesday, October 4 at 2:00 p.m. at Method Road.
