College Park, Md. – The NC State men’s soccer team fell at No. 6 Maryland 3-0 Saturday night in College Park, Md. The Terps (6-1, 1-1 ACC) scored in the fifth minute of the game for the eventual game winner, and limited the Pack’s (3-4, 1-2 ACC) offensive chances throughout the night.
Maryland struck first just five minutes into the game. Stephen King lined up for the penalty kick, but NC State’s Tom DeStefano dove to his right and stopped the shot. The rebound came right out to A.J. Godbolt, who slotted the shot home for the score. The Terps would add another goal right before the half, as Graham Zusi scored off an assist from Drew Yates in the 38th minute.
Maryland would score the only goal of the second half in the 80th minute. Jason Herrick picked up the unassisted goal for the final score of the day.
The Wolfpack will return to home action this Wednesday night, hosting South Carolina at 7:00 p.m. at SAS Soccer Park Field #2.
