Volleyball Opens ACC Play at Rival North Carolina

Raleigh, N.C. - The NC State volleyball team will begin Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) play tonight, Friday, Sept. 15, against the North Carolina Tar Heels in Chapel Hill, N.C. The action will begin at 7 p.m. in Carmichael Auditorium on the UNC campus. Both teams enter the conference grind with identical records of 2-7. The Wolfpack has not topped its rival since 1997.
The red and white make the short trip up I-40 after posting a 1-2 record last week at the Kent State University Invitational in Kent, Ohio, taking down Chicago State (3-1). Aiwane Iboaya was named to the all-tournament team for her performance over the course of the three-day affair. Keshia Raibon leads the Pack with an average of three kills and three assists per game, while Allison Davis puts up an average of 9.67 assists per game. Iboaya is currently averaging a team-best 1.13 blocks per game, while Chrissy Zirpolo averages 2.29 digs per contest.
Noelle Dyk leads the Tar Heels with an average of 3.58 kills per game, while Amy Beaver averages 1.32 blocks per game. Brianna Eskola's 5.10 digs per game currently stands at second-best in the league.
