Nik & Nice Guys Headline St. Lawrence Homes Home Opener

Are you ready for some football? Hank Williams Jr. may have made the phrase famous in recent years, but you can’t help but hear that same line coming from Wolfpack fans. And, come next Saturday football season will indeed be here.
NC State takes to the gridiron in the St Lawrence Homes Home Opener against defending NCAA Division I-AA National Champion Appalachian State. Kickoff in Carter-Finley Stadium is 6 p.m.
“St. Lawrence Homes is thrilled to once again be the title sponsor of NC State’s home football opener,” said Bob Ohmann, President and Founder of St. Lawrence Homes. “We’re behind the Wolfpack and wish Chuck Amato, his staff and players a great season in 2006.”
Festivities for the St. Lawrence Homes opener begin at 3:30 in the Wolfpack Fan Zone, located on the front lawn of the RBC Center. For the second straight year, America’s Number 1 Jock Rock Party Show Band, Nik and the Nice Guys, will perform. This favorite of Wolfpack fans will play from 3:30 right up until game time.
Nik and the Nice Guys have played at 10 Super Bowls, the Summer and Winter Olympics, and All Star Games for the NBA, NHL and Major League Baseball. They feature 11 multi-talented performers who really know how to get a crowd in the mood for a big event. They’re a perfect match for the St. Lawrence Homes Home Opener.
Another highlight of game-day in the Fan Zone will be The Bobby Murray Tailgate Show, which will broadcast live from 4-5 PM. Back for a second year, the show is hosted by Don Shea, Neil Solondz, Patrick Kinas and Tim Peeler. The fearsome foursome will preview the Wolfpack’s 2006 season, plus look at other games around the ACC and college football.
NC State fans won’t want to miss the St. Lawrence Homes Opener. The fun begins at 3:30 in Fan Zone. Then at 6 PM football season is officially here. And, that’s music to the ears of Wolfpack fans.
