CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The NC State volleyball team lost to Charlotte, 3-0, on Saturday, Aug. 26, in Charlotte, N.C. in its final match at the Spring Hill Suites Classic. The Pack moves to 0-3 on the season with the loss, as the 49ers climb to 3-0. Sophomore Jessica Williams picked up all-tournament accolades for her performance throughout the two-day affair.
The Wolfpack lost the first game 30-19, before falling 30-22 in the second and 30-16 in the third to end play.
“We allowed our minds to get the best of us,” said head coach Charita J. Stubbs. “We fought hard this morning, but we had such a quick turnaround between matches, our youth couldn’t respond to that.”
The red and white will return to the courts next Friday, Sept. 1, playing host to the Wolfpack Classic. The two-day tournament will be held in historic Reynolds Coliseum on the NC State campus. Northern Colorado, the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and Winthrop will round out the tournament field.
