Caterpillar is proud to partner with NC State to present a program that honors the achievements of our student-athletes in the classrooms as well as on the playing fields. Each month two Wolfpack Scholar athletes will be selected as a member of the Caterpillar Scholar Athlete team. To be named to the Caterpillar Scholar Athlete team, a student-athlete must maintain a 3.00 GPA for at least one semester and be a full-time student at NC State.
During the Spring 2006 semester 236 Wolfpack Student Athletes achieved a semester GPA of 3.00 or higher and 118 student-athletes were Dean's List honorees.
This month Caterpillar and NC State are proud to honor cross country's Jemissa Hess and Soccer's Christopher Widman.

Jemissa Hess knows how to go the distance, both as a member of the NC State Women's Cross Country team, and in the classroom. The junior from Manassas, Virginia, has compiled a 3.78 Total Grade Point Average in her Arts Application major. Since transferring from High Point University, Jemissa has also made the NC State Dean's List in the fall of 2005 and spring of 2006. Later this summer she will be named to the ACC Honor Roll for the 2005-2006 academic year.

Christopher Widman gets his kicks playing on the NC State Men's Soccer team. The sophomore from Greensboro, North Carolina also delights in scoring in the classroom. Christopher has compiled a 3.40 Total Grade Point Average in his Economics major. He will also be named to the ACC Honor Roll for the 2005-2006 academic year later this summer.
Congratulations to both Jemissa and Christopher and all the other Caterpillar Scholar Athletes.
Caterpillar and NC State ... partnering to make progress possible.
