RALEIGH, N.C. - Wolfpack volleyball head coach Charita J. Stubbs has announced the signing of Keshia Raibon for the 2006 squad. Raibon, a native of Longview, Texas, will join NC State after spending her freshman season at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. Standing at 5'9", Raibon is expected to have an immediate impact on the team as an outside hitter. She is the fourth player to join the Wolfpack since Stubbs was tabbed as the new head coach on Feb. 17.
"Keshia is a tremendous athlete who will be noted because of her ability to be a 'wow' factor," said Stubbs. "She is a great kid who believes in working hard and I am really excited to have her join our team."
Last year with the Indians, Raibon played in 112 games throughout 31 matches, collecting 275 kills. She also led the team in serves with 25 service aces.
Raibon enjoyed a solid prep career, lettering in volleyball for three seasons at Pine Tree High School in her hometown and playing with the East Texas Juniors Volleyball Club. In 2004, Raibon collected First Team All-State, Academic All-District, East Texas MVP and District MVP accolades. As a junior she was named First Team All-District. She was named 2002 Newcomer of the Year during her first prep season. In addition to volleyball, Raibon also lettered in basketball for three years and track and field for two years.
