RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State head volleyball coach Charita J. Stubbs completed her coaching staff with the addition of Eduardo Fiallos on June 18, 2006. With exceptional prep coaching experience, Fiallos will work primarily with the red and white's setters.
"I am excited to have a dedicated and motivated person like Eduardo added to our team," said Coach Stubbs. "He will be primarily in charge of training the setters on a day-to-day basis, however, Eduardo is the type of coach that is qualified to do it all."
Fiallos began competing in volleyball while in high school and continued his playing career on the men's club volleyball team while attending the University of Arizona from 1993-96, eventually serving as a volunteer assistant coach for the varsity women's program in 1997. Fiallos graduated with a bachelor's of science degree in biology in 1998.
Fiallos began his coaching career and earned his CAP Level I credential in 1993. He has coached Junior Olympic volleyball teams in Arizona, Louisiana and California, and has worked on coaching staffs at camps in Arizona, Louisiana, California and Florida. In the summer of 2005, he helped lead the Front Range Volleyball Club's 15 White team to a silver medal at the junior nationals in Salt Lake City. His coaching skills have helped bring three different teams to top 30 finishes at the Volleyball Festival.
Along with coaching at his alma mater, Fiallos also has had collegiate coaching experience at Cal State - Dominguez Hills, an NCAA Division II school, and the University of Louisiana - Lafayette. In addition to coaching, Fiallos has taught volleyball and volleyball coaching classes, as well as teaching science at the high school level.
"I've known Charita and Keisha since we were all playing volleyball at Arizona," Fiallos said. "Knowing what they did as players, as well as what they've done as coaches, I'm honored to be a part of this staff. I'm excited about joining the program and I look forward to what we can achieve at NC State."
