RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State volleyball head coach Charita J. Stubbs has announced that Chrissy Zirpolo of Los Altos Hills, Calif. will be joining the team in time for competition next fall. A 5' 11" outside hitter, Zirpolo will join the team as a true freshman. Zirpolo's prep career includes a successful run with the Vision Volleyball Club.
"I am really excited about adding someone of Chrissy's caliber to our team," said coach Stubbs. "She comes in and immediately gives us some ball control. She is a winner and I am excited to have her on board."
At the Girls Junior National Volleyball Championships in July 2005, Zirpolo helped lead her Vision 17 Gold to a second-place finish in the North California Region.
Zirpolo, currently a senior at Saint Francis High School in Mountain View, Calif., was named First Team All-WCAL (West Catholic Athletic League) this past year while helping her team to compete at the Northern California Division III Tournament.
