NC State couldn't down the Seminoles for the third time this season as they fell 6-0 in the second round of the ACC Championship. The No. 1-seeded Wolfpack (45-19) picked up just three hits against Tiffany McDonald (27-15) and will face No. 3 seed Virginia Tech at 8 p.m. tonight in Chapel Hill, N.C. in an elimination game. Jen Chamberlin went 2-for-3 with a double for the Wolfpack in the loss.

NC State threatened in the third when Heather Gelbard reached on an error with one out. Jen Chamberlin ripped a double down the left field line to move Gelbard to third, but Miranda Ervin hit a sharp grounder back to McDonald for the final out of the inning.

Natasha Jacob led off the third with a infield single and Yuruby Alicart homered to left center field for a 2-0 Seminoles lead off of Abbie Sims (22-12) went the distance and allowed 10 hits and six runs while fanning six batters to set a new career high with 275 strikeouts this season.

LaShaun Davis hit a sacrifice fly to score Carly Brieske in the fourth to push the lead to 3-0.

Veronica Wootson tripled to centerfield to score Alicart to move the Seminoles lead to 4-0.
