Heather Gelbard Named ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District

NC State junior Heather Gelbard was named a second-team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District III selection for her play on the field and work in the classroom. The designated player hit .283 for the Wolfpack this season, third on the team, and is second all-time in career batting average. She leads the team in hits in 2006 with 56, and is the all-time Wolfpack leader in hits and doubles. Gelbard has been nearly as unstoppable in the classroom, posting a 3.86 GPA in psychology. Gelbard was named a first-team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District III selection in 2005 and a third-team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America pick.
