RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State women's tennis has been recognized by the NCAA as being in the top-10 percent for Academic Progress Rate (APR) among all Division I women's tennis programs. In all, 93 women's tennis programs made the list across the country, including the Wolfpack.
In an effort to calculate the academic success and failure of its member collegiate teams, the NCAA devised the APR and put it into place during February of 2005. The APR measures student-athletes progress towards graduating and obtaining a degree.
"The academic achievements of women's tennis as a team are a testament to their tremendous drive and work ethic, which shows on the court also," said academic coordinator Maria Tyson. "These young ladies truly embody what it means to be students as well as athletes."
