NC State softball couldn't put a run on the board in the second game of the doubleheader as North Florida (12-8) beat the Wolfpack (16-8), 3-0. Shaina Ervin took the loss and fell to 3-1 on the season. Ashleigh Davis went 2-for-3 with a triple to pace the offense.

Davis tripled into right centerfield with two outs in the second, and was waved home as the throw into third went off line. Alisha Phillips made a perfect throw home to Kelli Rutenbar to get Davis by a step to end the inning. It was Davis' first career triple.

Tess Corona blooped a single into left to lead off the third inning and moved to third after a sacrifice by Shanna Smith and a groundout to second. Heather Gelbard couldn't drive in the run, however, as she popped out to second to end the threat.

The Ospreys loaded the bases with two outs in the fourth before Ashley Parenteau singled off the glove of a diving Smith at short to score a pair of runs.

Gwen Williams homered to left in the fifth to give UNF a 3-0 advantage.

NC State threatened in the sixth as Gelbard walked and Jen Chamberlin reached on an error with one out. Miranda Ervin reached on a fielder's choice with Gelbard out at third on the play, and Sims struckout to end the threat.

Sims came in to pitch in the fifth with two outs and struck out three straight batters heading into the sixth.

In the Wolfpack's seventh inning, Ashleigh Davis singled with one out, but was tagged out on a run down between first and second for the second out of the inning.
