
Birmingham Shoots Par In Final Round

BATON ROUGE, La. - Molly Birmingham shot even par in the final round of the LSU/Cleveland Golf Classic March 5 to finish 11 over and tied for 30th place, leading the NC State women's golf team to a tie for 14th in the three-day, 54-hole, 18-team tournament at the par 72 University Club. The Wolfpack played its best golf of the event in the third round, improving seven strokes from the day before.
Lorraine Ballerano carded a three over score in the first round and finished 14 over and tied for 46th. Stephanie Derrey improved each round and ended up 17 over and tied for 54th. Lauren Harling and Nancy Mountcastle also competed for the Wolfpack.
Auburn won the tournament by two strokes at nine over and Jacqui Concolino from Vanderbilt was the individual medalist with a six-under total. NC State returns to action next week when it travels to Columbia, S.C., to compete in the Lady Gamecock Classic, March 10-12.
