Raleigh, N.C. - The NC State gymnastics team will host the final meet of the 2006 season this Friday night in Reynolds Coliseum at 7:00 p.m. A week before the EAGL Championships, four conference foes will be competing on the Pack's `Senior Night'. The Wolfpack (14-7) will play host to New Hampshire, Maryland and George Washington. In addition, NC State will honor both of its seniors, Kylah Bachman and Beth Faulkner.
NC State comes into the meet looking for one more top home score before hitting the road for both the EAGL Championships (at Rutgers) and the NCAA Regional Championships (at Georgia). The Pack scored its highest home score of the season two weeks ago with a 195.100 in a defeat of No. 23 Michigan, and currently stands third in the EAGL conference with a RQS of 193.245.
New Hampshire (11-5) sits fourth in the EAGL with a RQS of 193.110, followed by Maryland (11-7) in fifth place with a 192.370. George Washington (10-14) is seventh with a RQS of 192.180.
SENIORS TO BE HONORED:
Kylah Bachman - Kylah has been as consistent as they come at NC State, competing all four years, including doing the all-around the last three. The honors she has won is a long list, earning EAGL first-team honors on vault, beam and floor during her career, as well as a second-team selection in the all-around. Kylah was one of only six gymnasts in the EAGL to be named to the all-academic team, as she is majoring in communication disorders.
Beth Faulkner - Beth has seen action on both vault and on floor during her career at NC State. She has done a really nice job for for the Pack when the team needed her to step in when people where out. Beth stepped right in whenever asked, and it is always good to have have people like that on a squad. Beth also got it done in the classroom, as she was named to the All-EAGL Academic team three years while majoring in biological sciences.
