Caterpillar is proud to partner with NC State to present a program that honors the achievements of our student-athletes in the classrooms as well as on the playing fields. Each month two Wolfpack Scholar athletes will be selected as a member of the Caterpillar Scholar Athlete team. To be named to the Caterpillar Scholar Athlete team, a student-athlete must maintain a 3.00 GPA for at least one semester and be a full-time student at NC State.
During the Spring 2005 semester 236 Wolfpack Student Athletes achieved a semester GPA of 3.00 or higher and 118 student-athletes were Dean's List honorees.
This month Caterpillar and NC State are proud to honor volleyball's Shawn Carroll and cross country's Taylor Adams.

Shawn Carroll has come up with plenty of aces, both in her sport and in the classroom. Shawn is a member of the NC State Women's Volleyball team. The freshman from College Park, Georgia is also a standout in the classroom. Shawn has compiled a 4.00 Total Grade Point average in her Middle Grades Education major. She was also named to the NC State Dean's List in the fall of 2005.

Taylor Adams is used to leaving the competition behind. He's a member of the NC State Men's Cross Country Team. Taylor's best work comes in the classroom where he's compiled a 4.00 Total Grade Point average in his Aerospace Engineering major. The freshman from Pittsboro, North Carolina was also a member of the NC State Dean's List for the fall semester of 2005.
Congratulations to both Shawn and Taylor and all the other Caterpillar Scholar Athletes.
