Caterpillar is proud to partner with NC State to present a program that honors the achievements of our student-athletes in the classrooms as well as on the playing fields. Each month two Wolfpack Scholar athletes will be selected as a member of the Caterpillar Scholar Athlete team. To be named to the Caterpillar Scholar Athlete team, a student-athlete must maintain a 3.00 GPA for at least one semester and be a full-time student at NC State.
During the Spring 2005 semester 236 Wolfpack Student Athletes achieved a semester GPA of 3.00 or higher and 118 student-athletes were Dean's List honorees.
This month Caterpillar and NC State are proud to honor track & field's Julianna Pitts and baseball's Jake Kensmoe.

It's tough to keep up with Julianna Pitts. This freshman has shown great versatility as a member of the NC State Women's Track team, competing in both sprints and jumps. And, she's been right on the mark in the classroom, compiling a 4.00 Total Grade Point Average in her First Year College major. The native of Chapel Hill, North Carolina was also named to the NC State Dean's List in the fall of 2005.

This is Jake Kensmoe's time of year. The freshman from Greensboro, North Carolina is a pitcher on the NC State Baseball team. Jake also knows how to bring the heat in the classroom, and has compiled a 4.00 Total Grade Point average in his Computer Science major. He was also named to the NC State Dean's List in the fall of 2005.
Congratulations to both Julianna and Jake and all the other Caterpillar Scholar Athletes.
