Raleigh, N.C. - After having to start the 2006 season with three of its first four meets away from Raleigh, the NC State gymnastics team is looking forward to his weekend. The Pack will host the annual Hearts Invitational this Friday night at 7:00 p.m. in Reynolds Coliseum. No. 16 Auburn, James Madison and William & Mary will all be in town for only NC State's second home meet of the season. Assistant Coach Todd Henry gets us caught up with the happenings of the gymnastics team in this weeks `In the Chalk Box'.
Henry: Four weeks into the season and we are finally moving in a positive direction. The coaching staff has struggled with finding the right line up so far this year. We have had some unfortunate injuries and illness that are starting to come about. This has already paid dividends, as we are seeing many different gymnasts step up when given the opportunity. We scored our highest total of the year this past weekend at the Governor's Cup! I fully expect us to really make a charge from here on out.
We have a big Friday coming up. We host No. 16 Auburn in Reynolds, along with William & Mary and JMU. The team is very excited about the challenge of having an SEC opponent in our house! The Tigers are doing very well so far this year. It will take our A Game to win.
Come and support the PACK!! Until next time..
