TUCSON, Ariz. - NC State (6-4) couldn't continue its hot hitting from the previous day at the Worth Wildcat Tournament and fell 6-0 to No. 3 Arizona on day two. The loss snapped NC State's five game win streak as the Wildcats improved to 10-0. Abbie Sims (4-2) took the loss in the circle, despite striking out five and collecting the lone Wolfpack hit in the game.
Sims didn't allow a hit until the third inning when Arizona scored a pair of runs. Chelsie Mesa hit a RBI single in the inning before Sims walked in the second run with the bases full.
Arizona scored two more runs in each the fourth and fifth innings to chase Sims. Sims allowed a career-high eight runs in the loss on eight hits and three walks. Shaina Ervin pitched an inning and a third in relief, allowing a hit and a walk while striking out one batter.
