Raleigh, N.C. - The NC State gymnastics team will return to home action this weekend, with a special Flip for a Cure meet this Sunday at 4:00 p.m. at the RBC Center. The Pack (7-4) will be hosting No. 5 Florida and William & Mary in a meet where all the proceeds will benefit the Susan G. Komen Breast Caner Foundation. Assistant coach Todd Henry writes about this special meet in the latest addition of `Inside the Chalk Box'.
Henry: NC State had a great meet last weekend against No. 16 Auburn and now we face No. 5 Florida at the RBC Center on Sunday. Our theme is "Flip for a Cure." The meet will follow the women's basketball game at Reynolds Coliseum which is titled "Hoops for Hope."
We are looking once again to Leigha Hancock for another strong showing. Leigha won EAGL Specialist of the Week honors for her performance last week, and has had some difficulties this year with illness and injuries but she continues to be an outstanding example of rising to the occasion when it matters! Heather Zolton and Kylah Bachman look to be in good form to compete in the all around with Florida's best.
As basketball battles Maryland and we face off against the Gators, the real winner of Sunday's events will be the money our programs raise for the ultimate fight against cancer. Best of luck to all the teams and remember to wear pink!!
