Caterpillar is proud to partner with NC State to present a program that honors the achievements of our student-athletes in the classrooms as well as on the playing fields. Each month two Wolfpack Scholar athletes will be selected as a member of the Caterpillar Scholar Athlete team. To be named to the Caterpillar Scholar Athlete team, a student-athlete must maintain a 3.00 GPA for at least one semester and be a full-time student at NC State.
During the Spring 2005 semester 236 Wolfpack Student Athletes achieved a semester GPA of 3.00 or higher and 118 student-athletes were Dean's List honorees.
This month Caterpillar and NC State are proud to honor soccer's Karla Hutton and rifle's Thomas Knight.

Karla Hutton gets her kicks playing on the NC State Women's Soccer team. The junior from Clifton, Virginia has scored on the field and in the classroom. Karla has compiled a 3.58 Total Grade Point Average in her Political Sciences major. She's been named to the NC State Dean's List three times during her academic career. Karla was also selected to the ACC Honor Roll for the 2003-2004 and 2004-2005 academic years.

Thomas Knight is a straight shooter. And, that's a good thing when you're on the NC State Rifle team. The sophomore from Burke, Virginia has excelled in both sport and academics. Thomas has compiled a 3.66 Total Grade Point Average in his Civil Engineering major. He earned a spot on the NC State Dean's List in the spring and fall of 2005. Thomas was also on the ACC Honor Roll for the 2004-2005 academic year.
Congratulations to both Karla and Thomas and all the other Caterpillar Scholar Athletes.
