Raleigh, N.C. - Sophomore Leigha Hancock of the NC State gymnastics team has been named EAGL Specialist of the Week after her performance in the Hearts Invitational last Friday night. In the quad meet, Hancock was the top NC State finisher on all three of her events. She won her second floor title of the season with a 9.95, which was the third-highest floor score in school history. She also set a season-best on beam with a 9.825 for second, and took third on vault with a 9.75. Hancock's strong performance helped the Pack net its top score of the season thus far, a 193.325.
NC State will return to home action this weekend with a special meet at the RBC Center. On Sunday, February 19, the Pack will host both nationally ranked Florida and William & Mary in a special fundraising meet called Flip For a Cure. All proceeds from the meet will benefit the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Admission is $2 youth and $5 adult, with free parking at the RBC Center for the 4:00 meet.
All fans attending the NC State women's basketball game at 1:00 p.m. at Reynolds Coliseum that afternoon can bring their ticket stub to the gymnastics meet and gain free admission to the Flip For a Cure gymnastics meet.
