NC State Lands Four On All-ACC Academic Volleyball Team

NC State led the conference with four members on the 2005 All-ACC Academic Volleyball Team. Andrea Bentley, Stefani Eddins, Adeola Kosoko and Melissa Rabe were all selected to the inaugural squad, representing the Wolfpack.
To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must have earned a 3.00 grade point average for the previous semester and maintained a 3.00 cumulative average during her academic career.
Bentley, a sophomore libero from Cary, N.C., led NC State with 385 digs and 3.74 digs per game in 2005. She played in every single game of every single match. Finishing the season ranked 10th in the league with 4.23 digs per ACC game, Bentley started the first 11 matches at defensive specialist before switching to libero. Tied for second on the team with 22 service aces, she led team with 519 service receptions and only had 37 reception errors for a .929 reception pct. A Dean's List student and NC State Scholar Athlete, Bentley is also a member of the ACC Academic Honor Roll.
Eddins, a senior middle blocker from Irving, Texas, was a first-team All-ACC selection this past season and earned honorable mention All-East Region honors by the AVCA as well as being picked to College Volleyball Update (CVU.com) inaugural Stellar Spiker Team. She played in every game and started every match and was selected team co-captain. Named to Wolfpack Classic All-Tournament Team and selected the tournament MVP, Eddins was also named to the Magnolia Invitational All-Tournament Team. Leading the team with 360 kills, 3.50 kills per game, 747 total attacks, a .387 attack percentage, 123 block assists, 36 solo blocks and 1.54 blocks per game, Eddins finished her career second in the school records for season attack pct. and career attack pct., first (173 in 2004) and second (159 in 2005) in season blocks and ninth for career blocks. Leading the ACC with .387 attack pct., Eddins finished third with 1.54 blocks per game and 10th with 3.50 kills per game. She also ranked 18th in the NCAA for attack pct. and 19th for blocks per game. A Dean's List student and NC State Scholar Athlete, Eddins was an ACC Academic Honor Roll member and she was picked third-team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District 3 by CoSIDA.
Kosoko, a senior middle blocker from Omaha, Neb., played in every game and started every match. She was selected team co-captain and was named to the Wolfpack Classic All-Tournament Team for the second straight year in 2005. Re-elected as Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) President, Kosoko was also on the leadership board for NC State's Fellowship of Christian Athletes in Action. She finished second on team with 246 kills, 2.39 kills per game, 644 total attacks, a .213 attack percentage, 89 block assists and 32 solo blocks. Kosoko led team with .952 serve reception pct., recording only 14 reception errors on 291 received serves. She finished her career seventh in school history with 353 career blocks and she ranked seventh in league last season with 1.17 blocks per game and seventh with 1.21 blocks per ACC game. A Dean's List student and NC State Scholar Athlete, Kosoko is also an ACC Academic Honor Roll member.
Rabe, a junior setter from Greensboro, N.C., started every match but two and played in all but five games last season. She was named first-team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District 3 by CoSIDA with her perfect 4.0 GPA. She led team with 887 assists, 9.14 assists per game, 41 service aces, 0.42 aces per game, 396 serves and a .967 serving pct. in 2005 and finished second in the ACC for aces per game, 10th in assists per game, 10th in assists per ACC game and 6th in aces per ACC game. A Dean's List student and NC State Scholar Athlete, Kosoko is also an ACC Academic Honor Roll member.
