Gymnastics Signs Two During Fall Signing Period

Raleigh, N.C. – NC State gymnastics coach Mark Stevenson and his staff signed two athletes to scholarship agreements during the November signing period. Brittany Vontz from Lincoln, Nebraska, and Brittney Hardiman from Orlando, Florida, will both join the NC State gymnastics team for the 2007-08 school year.
Vontz trains at the Nebraska School of Gymnastics. She finished ninth in the country at Junio Nationals this past year. She will add depth and has a great base knowledge of how the college system already works. She is a very well balanced gymnast who trains at the University of Nebraska. Vontz, was coached by Adrian Burde, who is now the assistant coach at the University of Florida.
Hardiman competes at the Orlando Metro Gymnastics. She finished 11th at Junior Nationals this past season. She is from one of the best clubs in the country. Her coach Jeff Wood, has produced some of the most prolific gymnast in the country. He has had several gymnasts on the National Team for the United States. He consistently produces very mentally and physically tough athletes. Orlando Metro is a hot bed of up and coming gymnast.
The 2007 NC State gymnastics season will start with January 12th meet at Auburn. The Wolfpack’s first home meet will be January 21st, competing against Georgia, Iowa and Ohio State.
