NC State continues home stretch

The Wolfpack Women continue through its season-long six-game home stretch on Saturday against Temple out of the Atlantic-10 Conference. The game is scheduled for 2 pm at Reynolds Coliseum.

21 Straight Non-Conference Wins at Reynolds

NC State extended its non-conference winning streak at Reynolds Coliseum to 21 games with a 53-41 win over South Carolina on November 29. The Pack has gone the last three plus seasons without a non-conference loss at Reynolds.

The last setback was a 69-57 loss to Brigham Young on December 14, 2002.

Record-long home stand

NC State is in the midst of its longest home stand in school history. Never in the 33-year history of the program had the Wolfpack played six consecutive games at home. The longest stretch was five games, that took place on four occasions (1979-80, 1984-85, 1986-87 and 1990-91).

All-Time Home Record

NC State is 4-0 on its home floor this year, 3-0 at Reynolds Coliseum. Overall, the Pack owns a staggering 327-87 all-time record in home games. The Wolfpack has never had a losing mark in now its 33rd season of basketball. There has been three seasons where the club wound up with a .500 record, most recenlty in 2002-03 (7-7).

Second half Surge

Over the last two games, NC State has shook of sluggish first half performances by coming out and shooting the lights out in the second half, which has led to back-to-back wins for the second time this year.

At UCSB, the Pack found itself down 30-23 at the half after shooting only 33.3 percent. However, NC State came out and put together its best shooting half of the year, connecting on 54.8 percent of its shots, and went on a 27-9 run to roll to a 64-55 win in Santa Barbara.

Against South Carolina, neither team shot well and both teams went into the locker room tied 18-18. The Pack then shot 52.4 percent from the floor and used a 13-3 run in the second half to garner a 53-41 victory.

Clamping down on Defense

NC State has done a tremendous job of limiting its three opponents scoring abilities at Reynolds Coliseum this year. The three teams have combined to average a mere 41 points a game. No team has scored more than 48 points (High Point), while Iona (34) and South Carolina (41) really struggled to find their respective shooting forms.

Road Weary

It had been 17 days between games at Reynolds Coliseum for NC State, before Wednesday's contest with South Carolina. Although, the Pack did play one of its games in Raleigh, but it took place at the RBC Center.

While the Pack was gone from the friendly confines of Reynolds, NC State went out West and in reference to "how the crow flies", the team traveled 4,798 miles between its stops in Tucson, Ariz. and Santa Barbara, Calif. from Nov. 23-27.

The Wolfpack also traveled a mere 1,100 miles to and from West Lafayette, Ind. to take on Purdue in the semifinals of the Preseason WNIT on November 12.
