RALEIGH, N.C. - Junior El Hadj Cisse and sophomore Ronnie Bouemboue of the NC State men’s soccer team were each named to the 2006 ACC All-Tournament team for their performances in helping the Pack go 1-1 over the weekend. Bouemboue’s seven total points were the most for the weekend, while Cisse’s five points were the second-most among all players. The starting forward combo were also only two of the three players to score more than one goal during the tournament.
Bouemboue recorded a hat trick for the Pack in the opening round win over Virginia Tech, the first for an NC State player since 2002. Cisse posted a goal in the Virginia Tech win, and the lone goal in the 2-1 loss to eventual champion Duke. Bouemboue assisted on both of Cisse’s goals, while Cisse had assists on two of Bouemboue’s scores.
The pair are the first Wolfpack duo to be honored from the same tournament since NC State had two members on the 1992 all-tournament team.
