Winston-Salem, N.C. – The NC State volleyball team fell to Wake Forest, 3-0, on Friday, Nov. 3, in Winston-Salem, N.C. Keshia Raibon led the Wolfpack offense with 11 kills, while Melissa Rabe set 16 assists. The red and white recorded eight total team blocks. The loss sends the Pack to 2-22 (0-15 ACC), while the Demon Deacons move to 13-11 (9-6 ACC).
Wake used a five-point run to begin game one and remained in control of the lead for the rest of play. The Pack forced 10 Demon Deacon errors, while only committing four, but was out hit .224 to .179, as Wake Forest took the game, 30-25.
The Wolfpack hit -.133 in the second game and committed seven errors, as the Demon Deacons cruised on 14 kills. Wake Forest led for the entire match, grabbing the win on a block from Jackie Lucas and Kate Rodriquez, 30-19.
The red and white produced a match-high 13 kills in the third stanza. With NC State trailing 16-11, the Demon Deacons went on a four-point spree, moving the score to 20-11 and putting the match out of reach. Natasha Schaefer ended play with a service ace, giving Wake the win, 30-24.
NC State will return to the courts next Tuesday, Nov. 7, at 7 p.m. in Reynolds Coliseum on the NC State campus. The Pack will host rival North Carolina.
