Raleigh, N.C. - NC State head volleyball coach Charita J. Stubbs has announced the signing of a fourth member to her 2007 recruiting class. Lindsay Benac will join the Wolfpack program next season along with Megan Rehmer, Alex Smith and Lauren Zaniboni. Benac marks the third member of the signing class to join the Pack via California.
"I'm very happy to add Lindsay to an already exciting class," said Stubbs. "Like the other young women that signed with the program, she has the potential to come in and make an immediate impact with this team next season. We have a bright future ahead of us."
Benac, a native Huntington Beach, Calif., is currently a senior at Huntington Beach High School. Standing at 5-foot-7, Benac's talents will be utilized at the libero position by Stubbs and company. She has enjoyed a successful prep career with the Cal Jr's Volleyball Club.
"Lindsay comes from one of the better clubs in the nation," said Stubbs. "Cal Jr's is known for outstanding defense and she will bring that into the libero position. She has an aggressive mindset and a solid court presence. She really knows the game."
The four fresh faces will replace two current players that finish their careers at the end of the year. Melissa Rabe and Lyssa Ramirez, both seniors, will bow out of the program when their eligibility ends at the close of this season.
