The NC State women’s golf team wrapped up play at the Lady Tar Heel Invite after a rainy weekend of golf landed the team in ninth place, the third straight tournament to open the season that NC State finished among the top-9 teams. As a team, the Wolfpack fired a 915 (306-304-305). Lauren Doughtie led the team for the second straight week with a score of 224 (75-74-75), her season-high and the second highest overall on the team this season. She finished the tournament in 11th a week after finishing second in Kentucky.
Stephanie Derrey was tied for 18th after she carded a 226 (74-76-76) for her best finish of the young season.
Nancy Mountcastle finished tied for 28th in the field, her second top-30 finish individually this season. She carded a 229 (75-76-78) at the Finley Golf Course in Chapel Hill, N.C.
Jessica Vincent lowered her score each round and finished with a final round 76. Her three-day total of 239 (85-78-76) landed her in 63rd. Kathleen Strandberg, finished with a 244 (82-80-82).
