Women's Soccer Hosts Virginia on Senior Day

The NC State women’s soccer team (9-7-2, 3-6 ACC) will host ACC rival Virginia (9-6-2, 4-4-1 ACC) in its last regular season match on Saturday, Oct. 28 at 2 p.m. at Method Road Soccer Stadium. The Wolfpack will be celebrating Senior Day, honoring Megan Connors, Karla Hutton, Michelle Massey, Nicole Mayo, Carol Tognetti, Megan Sadler, Christina Mann, Megan Buescher, and Amy Graul. Last season, the red and white fell to the Cavaliers, 2-0, at Virginia.
The Wolfpack, who are 8-3-1 at home, host the Cavaliers after defeating High Point, 1-0, on Wednesday, Oct. 25. Freshman goalie Sydney Little netted four saves in her first career shutout, and junior Jessica O'Rourke posted her eighth goal of the season in the match. O’Rourke is now third in the ACC for goals scored, and is tied for third for game winning goals. She also leads the team in points with 19. NC State is second in the conference for saves and is tied for fifth for shutouts.
Virginia travels to Raleigh after falling, 2-0, to Maryland. The Cavaliers are fourth in the ACC for points with 83, and third for assists with 31. Jess Rostedt leads the team in goals with six, and is fifth in the ACC for points per game. Jen Redmond leads the team in assists with six, and is tied for sixth in the ACC for assists per game. Virginia is 1-3-2 on the road this season.
