The NC State women’s soccer team (8-4-2, 3-3 ACC) travels to Boston, Mass. to take on No. 19 Boston College (8-5-1, 2-3-1 ACC) on Sunday, Oct. 15 at 1 p.m. Boston College leads the series 2-1 after defeating the Wolfpack last season, 1-0, in Raleigh. This is the first time the two opponents have met in Boston.
The red and white go to Boston on a two game winning streak after defeating Virginia Tech and Maryland. Senior goalkeeper Megan Connors posted her seventh shutout of the season in the 1-0 victory over the Terrapins, her career 16th. Connors is tied for third in the ACC for shutouts. Adding one save to her season record after the match, she now has 61, making her fourth in the ACC for saves. Freshman Meredith Parrilla netted her first goal of the season against the Terrapins off of a corner kick from freshman Katie Ruiz. The assist was Ruiz’s fifth, making her tied for sixth in the conference.
The Eagles welcome the Pack after falling, 3-1, at No. 2 North Carolina. Freshman Gina DiMartino netted her tenth goal of the season against the Tar Heels, putting her in first in the ACC for goals scored. Goalie Sarah Buonomo had two saves in the match, bringing her season total to 23 after seven games played. Kia McNeill leads the Eagles in assists with six. Boston College is second in the ACC for points and goals per game.
