NC State Women's Tennis Defeats Western Carolina, 7-0

RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State women's tennis team collected another spring victory on Sunday, Jan. 29, at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center on the NC State campus as the team defeated visiting Western Carolina, 7-0. The Pack collected all doubles and singles wins over the course of the shutout victory. The Pack now stands at 3-0 in the spring, while Western Carolina falls to 0-1.
In doubles, junior Allison Barry and senior Nandita Chandrasekar took down Trish Hanson and Mariona Trilla Jane at No. 1, 8-1, while junior Lauren Barry and freshman Arielle Von Strolley beat Susanna Sjokvist and Holly Stocks, 8-1, at No. 2.
The Pack quickly flew through the singles bouts, picking up all wins in straight sets. Junior Agustina Arechavaleta finished first at No. 4, beating Stocks, 6-0, 6-0. Freshman Alejandra Guerra followed at No. 3, knocking off Trilla Jane, 6-1, 6-0. Sophomore Elin Stahl Johansson finished third at No. 2, downing Sjokvist, 6-0, 6-0, while Chandrasekar beat Hanson, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 1.
The NC State women's tennis team will hit the courts again later today at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center on the NC State campus. The Pack will take on UNC Wilmington at 5 p.m.
