Caterpillar is proud to partner with NC State to present a program that honors the achievements of our student-athletes in the classrooms as well as on the playing fields. Each month two Wolfpack Scholar athletes will be selected as a member of the Caterpillar Scholar Athlete team. To be named to the Caterpillar Scholar Athlete team, a student-athlete must maintain a 3.00 GPA for at least one semester and be a full-time student at NC State.
During the Spring 2005 semester 236 Wolfpack Student Athletes achieved a semester GPA of 3.00 or higher and 118 student-athletes were Dean's List honorees.
This month Caterpillar and NC State are proud to honor soccer's Mandela Schumacher-Hodge and football's Jonathan Macrae.

Mandela Schumacher-Hodge knows how to put up big numbers, both on the field of play and in the classroom. The native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is a standout on the NC State women's soccer team. Mandela's best work may come in the classroom, where she's compiled a 3.93 Total Grade Point Average in her Communications major. Mandela's also been named to the NC State Dean's List all four semesters she's been on campus and the ACC Honor Roll for the 2003-2004 and 2004-2005 seasons.

Jonathan Macrae likes to spend his Saturday's kicking things. He's a punter on the NC State football team. The Fayetteville, North Carolina native also knows how to boot em with the best in the classroom. Jonathan has compiled a 3.47 Total Grade Point Average in his Parks Recreation and Tourism major. Jonathan was also named to the NC State Dean's List in the fall of 2004 and made the ACC Honor Roll for the 2004-2005 season.
Congratulations to both Mandela and Jonathan and all the other Caterpillar Scholar Athletes.
