Kayla Ragan, a rising senior on the NC State volleyball team, submitted answers to GoPack.com recently on a variety of subjects, most having nothing to do with volleyball. A sociology major from Lotus, Calif., Ragan plays both outside hitter and rightside hitter for the Wolfpack. She saw action in 68 games of 23 matches last year and had a career-best performance at Tennessee-Chattanooga, recording 15 kills and 18 digs.
GoPack: What are your nicknames on the team?
KR: Kay, KK
GoPack: What is the funniest nickname on the team?
KR: Radio, and it's not that the nickname is funny, it's more how she obtained it. But, I can't reveal who it is, we'll let her do that if she wishes.
GoPack: What has been your favorite class taken at NC State?
KR: There are a few, I couldn't narrow it down to one.
GoPack: If a movie were made about you, which actor would you want to play the part of you?
KR: Julia Stiles
GoPack: What did you choose to come to NC State?
KR: I had never been to the East Coast before and I thought it would be a great experience to be able to travel with the team to places I had never been or seen. On my recruiting visit I liked the girls and the program was under construction and I wanted to be a part of it.
GoPack: When you were a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?
KR: Never knew then ... still don't
GoPack: What is your greatest moment outside of volleyball?
KR: Devoting my life to Jesus Christ
GoPack: What rituals to you have before every match?
KR: Listen to the song Audience of One
GoPack: What are your favorite hobbies?
KR: Photography and scrapbooking
GoPack: What person has influenced you the most in your life?
KR: My family, my parents, my grandparents ... they are amazing people, strong, loving, caring, and completely supportive of me. I would not be here today without any of them.
GoPack: Who is the funniest person on the team?
KR: Stephanie Sims by far. She has a great sense of humor and always keeps us laughing.
GoPack: If you could be on a reality TV show, which one would you choose?
KR: I wouldn't
GoPack: What event in history that would you have liked to have witnessed?
KR: Christ's crucifiction
GoPack: What is your favorite all-time Christmas gift?
KR: Getting to spend it with my family

KR: Living
