Ballerano Makes Cut At U.S. Am

ROSWELL, Ga. - Lorraine Ballerano, a rising senior on the NC State women's golf team, finished two rounds of stroke play Tuesday at the U.S. Women's Amateur Championship tied for 32nd place, making the 64-person cut for match play. Completing stroke play five strokes over-par at the par 72 Settindown Creek course of Ansley Golf Club, Ballerano is the No. 38 seed in match play and faces No. 27 Alejandra Martin Del Campo in the first round Wednesday.
Wolfpack teammate Molly Birmingham missed the cut, shooting eight-over in stroke play and incoming freshman Lauren Doughtie also failed to qualify for match play.
