N.C. State senior Jay Davis is one of 22 players on the list of candidates for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award, presented annually to the nation's top senior collegiate quarterback. Davis passed for 2,104 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2004.
In 2004, his first as a starter, Davis was the only quarterback in the ACC to throw for over 200 yards six times. He also ranked second in the league with an average of 191 passing yards per contest. The Clearwater, Florida native enters 2005 as NC State's 12th all-time leading passer with 2,281 yards.
Davis and the Pack will open their season against nationally ranked Virginia Tech on Sunday night, September 4.
