Melissa Rabe, a junior on the NC State volleyball team, submitted answers to GoPack.com recently on a variety of subjects, most having nothing to do with volleyball. A Biochemistry major with nutrition minor from Greensboro, N.C., Rabe looks to take over the reins this year at setter for the Wolfpack. She played in 67 games of 27 matches last year and drew the starting setter assignment in eight matches. A Dean's List student, Rabe (pronounced ray-bee) was named an NC State Scholar-Athlete and selected to ACC Academic Honor Roll last year. She was also chosen for NC State's Top 10 Scholar Athlete List with a perfect 4.0 GPA.
GoPack: What are you nicknames on the team?
MR: M, Blue Chip
GoPack: What is your favorite class that you have taken at NC State?
MR: Cellular and Developmental Zoology
GoPack: When you were a kid what did you want to be when you grew up?
MR: Veterinarian
GoPack: Nobody knows how much you like to what?
MR: Paint
GoPack: What has been your greatest moment outside of volleyball?
MR: Hiking the Kalalau Trail along the Na Pali Coast in Kauai this past summer
GoPack: What pregame rituals do you have before every match?
MR: Braid my hair and listen to something other than rap
GoPack: What are your favorite hobbies?
MR: Outdoor volleyball, tennis, hiking and reading
GoPack: If you had to give up all my possessions but one which one would you keep?
MR: My collection of postcards from my friends and family
GoPack: What is your favorite place on campus?
MR: Weisiger-Brown
GoPack: Who has influenced you the most in your life?
MR: My parents, they have been great role models and have provided me with the confidence and resources to be where I am today

MR: None, I don't like reality TV
