RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State head women's soccer coach Laura Kerrigan has announced that Ben Pinkerton has joined the Wolfpack coaching staff and will serve as an assistant coach. Pinkerton joins the NC State staff after spending the last three years with Charlotte as the assistant coach/goalkeeper coach.
"We are very excited that Ben is joining our staff," said Kerrigan. "His personality, knowledge and experience in the game are all factors which will make him a tremendous addition to our program."
In addition to his collegiate coaching experience, Pinkerton has served as the Director of Goalkeeping for the Gaston United Soccer Club for two years, founded and directed the SoccerNow Goalkeeper and Striker Camp in Blacksburg, Va. for six years, coached two years with Blacksburg High School and was involved with the training and coaching of several club teams.
The Virginia Tech graduate lettered two years on the men's soccer team as a goalkeeper from 1998-2001. His playing career also includes two seasons at Brevard College in North Carolina, where he earned team MVP and All-South honors.
