NC State Women's Golf Signee Shoots 65

NC State women's golf signee, Lauren Doughtie, shot a 65 on April 27 at Ocean View Golf Course in Norfolk, Va. An incoming freshman this fall for the Wolfpack, Doughtie carded the seven-under-par round at a school match in which she was playing for her high school team, Nansemond-Suffolk Academy.

Doughtie was the individual medalist and her team won the match. The following Monday, May 2, she earned a coveted invitation to play in a LPGA qualifier for the Michelob Ultra Open at Kingsmill in Williamsburg, Va.

"I did not qualify unfortunately, but it was a great experience," Doughtie said. "I shot 77 and 66 and 67 got in the tournament. I was three over on the last three holes which will kill any round."

Release on Doughtie signing National Letter of Intent to attend NC State.
