Gymnastics Heads to NCAA Regionals

Raleigh, N.C. - For the 13th time in the past 14 years, the NC State gymnastics team will compete at the NCAA Regional Championships. This weekend, the Pack travels to Gainesville, Fla., to take part in the NCAA Southeast Regionals on Saturday night. The Wolfpack, seeded sixth, will face No. 1 seed and fifth-ranked Georgia, the host Florida Gators are the No. 2 seed and ranked seventh nationally, No. 3 seed and 17th-ranked Denver, No. 4 seed and 25th-ranked North Carolina, and No. 5 seed West Virginia.
The Pack holds a 2-5-1 record this season against teams competing in the NCAA Regionals at Florida. NC State went 1-2-1 versus North Carolina and 1-1 against West Virginia, both EAGL conference opponents. The Pack traveled to two of the other opponents during the regular season, falling at both Denver and Georgia.
NC State will also be making its sixth trip to Gainesville for the NCAA Regionals. Its highest finish was fourth in 1984, and most recently finished sixth with a score of 193.500 in 2001.
